Insight: Education and inspiration are two different things

In 2006 we were tasked with creating a Nike basketball campaign to coincide with Fiba World Championships taking place in Japan that year. While Basketball was already a major global sport, it was still somewhat a novelty for the Asian market. We decided to create two campaigns for the brief. One that educated and one that inspired. The first we called “The Three Laws” It focused on the different silos of Nike Basketball: Force, Flight and Uptempo and featured players that exhibited those characteristics. The second was based on the History of basketball and also Nike’s History. Vintage style posters were created for our current players, as well as special colorways for different shoe models.
